🦖 MEET PEARL: Part Bulldog, Part Snuggler, 100% Pterodactyl!

Spring is in the air, and our girl Pearl is ready to find her forever nest! 🌸

Pearl’s journey hasn't been easy. She came to DBR as a 1-year pup with little stability. Pearl has had at least one litter of puppies and was passed around before ending up in a shelter scared and disconnected, Pearl has blossomed into an inquisitive, 30lb bundle of spicy personality. She is looking for a specific kind of home, but for the right person or family, she is a total soulmate.

The "Pterodactyl" Factor 🔊
Ever heard a prehistoric screech? If Pearl gets scared or unsure, she lets out a sound that would make a dinosaur proud. Not quite Walter Geoffrey the Frenchie levels of drama - see https://www.facebook.com/waltergeoffreythefrenchie/ - but it’s shocking, it’s funny, and it’s definitely a conversation starter.

Why Pearl is Perfection:
Super Healthy: She’s 30lbs of pure muscle and no medical concerns. She’s been spayed and cleared by Dr. Wilson himself.

Professional Snuggler: Despite her energy, Pearl is a "home girl" at heart. She wants to be on you or right next to you most of the time.

Parkour Pro: She’s an elite athlete... specifically in the sport of jumping OVER things… like the sofa and chair and flower box and FENCE… well, you see where this is going. She honestly would give Michael Jordan a run for his money!

Stealth Capability: Without ever hearing a sound, you will turn around and find Pearl in your personal zone, wanting to know what “WE’RE” doing.

Road Trip Ready: She LOVES car rides. Bonus? She’s the perfect passenger🚗

Quiet Snorer... but Expert Farter: She won't keep you up with noise, but she might clear the room! đź’¨

House-trained: Pearl knows the drill but she needs your help. She’ll ever so quietly show ya, but it will be up to her forever family to learn her cues.

The Fine Print aka Pearl’s Needs:
Single Dog Status: With diligence and training, Pearl successfully lives with another dog 90% of the time. However, she still has occasional emotional outbursts that can lead to fights. Because she requires a high level of commitment on behalf of her family to maintain the peace, Pearl would thrive best as an only dog. Additionally, Introductions to new dogs must be done responsibly and with care.

Homebody Life: In this sense, she is a typical bulldog! Walks and hikes are not relaxing. They are stressful for Pearl. Too much to keep track of she can never relax. Her preference is inside and she is definitely a “patio, couch and movie" kind of girl. 🏡

Energy Bursts: All members of her forever family should be physically able to manage her zoomies.

Ongoing Training: Pearl’s leash skills are still evolving. She’s made a lot of progress but she is still easily distracted and overstimulated. She needs a patient owner who is comfortable with firm corrections and redirection. Yes, she is cute but that cannot sway appropriate discipline!

Pearl is deeply loved in her foster home, but she is so ready to find her own people to "soul-stare" at forever. 🥺💖
