Grayson Smudgewrinkles
Smudge is just over 3-years-old and loves to have his person/people nearby. Coming into rescue, he did show some separation anxiety (barking, whining, pacing) but with a bit of anti-anxiety medicine and tincture of time, he’s now more relaxed. Grayson would always prefer to have free range of the house versus being crates. He can be less than welcoming when other dogs come into his home so we do recommend him being your only fur child! New people and sudden movements make him a bit anxious—with that, we will require kiddos be at least 8 and dog savvy. Besides his anxiety med, Smudge takes Zyrtec/Benadryl as needed and requires frequent tail pocket cleaning—he came in with an infection and we’d like to prevent that going forward!
9/18/22:
Grayson Smudgewrinkles is still a younger guy, between 3-4 years of age. His initial home had young kiddos and visiting dogs, both which proved to be not to Grayson’s liking.
Grayson would be happiest with someone who is frequently home to hang with him. He's shown some separation anxiety initially but, with time, has relaxed a bit.
Grayson does best in a free roam environment versus kenneling or separation. He's currently receiving low dose trazadone for his anxiety but may be able to wean off in the future. Grayson is a good boy and doesn’t chew on things he shouldn’t and knows”sit” very well.
Grayson loves walks with his foster mom and exploring the neighborhood. He also join the allergy club with apoquel, Benadryl and Zyrtec as needed—all definitely on an as needed basis!
Smudge loves to play with toys, especially fetch with squeaky toys! His foster mama is thrilled that his exceedingly soft fur is a bit shorter and seems to shed less than typical bulldogs.
Ideally, Grayson would flourish in a home with no small children (sudden movements stress him) or other dogs. He's had limited interaction with the cat in his foster home and would be case by case for other dogs approximately his size.
Any interested approved adopters will need to travel to the Omaha area will all family members for a meet and greet. His adoption fee is set at $425.
