Hi! My name is Pearl and I'm about 8 years old!

Even though humans have not been very good to me during my first life, I am ready and excited for my new life with you!… A life where I will be with humans who I want to kiss and hang out with all the time! My favorite thing to do, is to be close and try to touch my humans. I am ok as well, with other confident dogs large and small, and have an amazing tolerance for puppies. I also do very well with older children, and love playing with them. I love going for walks and checking out what’s going on, being outside is great, and even though my legs may be short, doesn’t mean I go slow. I am also very good about “wait”ing when my human has to pick up my “business”, and I get back home so my paws can be cleaned. I am able to go up and down my foster mom’s stairs ok, but I learned if I jump down the last 2-3 stairs, it’s a lot easier and more fun!

I do get a weekly bath with a special shampoo to help my skin get better, which it is, slowly. Taking a bath is not my favorite activity, but I tolerate it well enough. I am very good at holding still for my eye medicine, and I am looking through them very well these days. I also love my antibiotics medicine and I gobble them up!

I am a good eater and love my fresh water, as evident by it ending up all over the floor. My dog dish is actually my favorite toy! I sometimes nibble on my other toys, but I think the humans think they are cooler than I. And treats, yes please! I have not met a treat I did not like!

I am learning to stay “down”; down from the couch, down from laps, down from jumping up. Since in my past life I was not shown where I should do my business, I am slowly getting the hang of it, and as I recover from a urinary tract infection; I think I will be easier in the next weeks. I am not much of a talker, I do most of it while snoring at night (haha!), but I will bark a few times to alert you of new humans (I want to protect my loved ones), then once told it’s ok, I go about to other more important things.

I don’t mind going into my crate at night, and can sleep through the entire night, holding my bladder for about 6-7 hours. I am told I am about 8 human years old, but I am young at heart and have a lot of life in me to share with you!
