Comments:
Bear was surrendered after beginning to fight with his younger EB brother. He is indifferent to the cat and small dog in his foster home. Bear is beginning to settle in and now enjoys crawling up onto the couch for some loving.

Bear will be on a medical hold until he can be evaluated by our vet.

2/22/20– Bear is a gold medal championship winner of the couch potato olympics. He is a soft, squishy 8 year old that will go on very short walks if you insist, but would really prefer laying around and taking all the ear scratches and belly rubs you can give him. Bear’s foster sibling include a house cat and an 8# submissive dog. Bear does well with them, although occasionally needs to be reminded that he is not the only dog deserving of attention.
Bear becomes aggressive with dogs larger than 10ish pounds or any size dog not totally submissive in nature. We have not observed Bear with toddlers or babies, however he has been good with 6 year olds and up.
Bear requires two twice daily eye drops and that will continue as an ongoing need. He also has had chronic ear infections, but they are cleared up currently.
Bear prefers to not use the stairs, he will sleep in his kennel on the couch or a dog bed. He is house trained and has had no accidents in his foster home.
Bear would love a home where he can sleep away his days and wake up for rubs, kisses, love and food.

4/6/20–Bear is showing more love now that he has been in our home for a longer period of time. He will periodically even come down the stairs so he can sit on the couch and watch tv with us. He has started sleeping with the humans as well, but will also sleep in his kennel or elswhere. He has become more of a watch dog. He enjoys telling you about everything that is moving out the window. Bear has severe chronic dry eyes and does require two meds in both eyes twice a day and you do need to remove his eye booger covering for him in the morning so he can see you. He still is dog selective, but loves all humans of all ages. He is just looking for that perfect home to find a nice warm spot to sit next to his human.

Bear is located in the Omaha/Lincoln, NE area. Interested approved adopters will need to travel to the area with other dogs in the family to meet/adopt Bear.
