Comments:
Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT)! Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a very large Midwest territory!
To determine if you qualify to adopt one of our adorable bullies view our Adoption Criteria and Adoption Area Map.
CEBR is a Illinois licensed shelter and a 501c3 charitable organization. What that means for adopters, surrendering families and shelters is that our bullies get the highest level of care and commitment; just like our sister BCARN rescue organizations. They spend their time with us in foster homes where they get daily love and attention.
We provide each bully with a high quality diet, the best veterinary care around (from a bulldog specialist!), and behavioral evaluations of the highest quality. Each of our rescued bullies typically cost CEBR more in care than the adoption fees we collect – on average $536 per bully.
A LUMP OF A BULLY TO WARM YOUR FEET ON A COLD WINTER EVENING. (Become a fan of Chicago English Bulldog Rescue on Facebook to read more!)
Yabba Dabba Doo! I am Rigli, your new best bully boyfriend. I am my foster family’s new sidekick. If they are going somewhere, so am I. If you are Fred Flintstone, I am your Barney Rubble.
I don’t want to brag but I am a seven year old English Bulldog with a sparkling personality. I am neutered and up to date on my shots. I have healthy ears, folds and tail – I am so easy for my foster family to care for. I don’t even need to lose any weight. I am a muscular 62 lbs. I have sad looking eyes at first sight but that could not be further from the truth. I have a zest for life and am care free and loving to everyone I meet.
I really am more evolved than the cave men. For instance, my ‘pout snout’ makes my tongue usually stick out of my mouth slightly - I don’t mean to stick out my tongue, it just slips out of my normal bully face. I am very well mannered and willing to please – no accidents in the cave so far. I do tend to lick people more than they want, but foster mom thinks this can be corrected with some training. My previous home had another dog in it, but she was too bossy. I think I could get along in a house with other pets since I am so laid back and willing to please my human companions. I am used to someone being home in my foster cave most of the time. I would love to have the same amount of interaction. I love the children in my foster cave, we play hide and seek in the house and I keep catching up to them around the furthest boulder.
When we get into the Flintstone-mobile, I love to take a ride. I will be your copilot, if you let me. As my foster family settles into the cave in the evening, my favorite place is laying right at their feet. Sometimes, I hark back to the cave dog in me, by helping to warm their feet because I am fast asleep and rolling onto their toes. There is nothing like a lump of bully to warm ones toes on a cool evening. For those that know bulldogs, I don’t snore. I pride myself on that.
Well it is time I signed off. It is time for a walk. But I am looking forward to meeting you and being your Barney Rubble.
Yabba Dabba Do! Licks from me to you,
Rigli
